NSWF Organises First-Ever ENT Medical Camp at Nachandupatti
The Nachandupatti Social Welfare Foundation (NSWF) successfully organised its first Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Medical Camp on 28 February 2026 at Nachandupatti. The camp marked a significant milestone as it was the first specialised ENT health initiative of its kind in the region, bringing much-needed medical services closer to the rural community.
The camp received an encouraging response from the local residents, with more than 60 people attending the programme to undergo medical consultation and screening. Many villagers who had long been experiencing ear and hearing-related issues were able to receive professional medical advice and diagnosis.
Specialist Doctors Conducted the Camp
The camp was conducted by Dr. S. Saravanan, ENT Specialist, along with Dr. V. Ramamurthy, who provided consultations and examinations for the beneficiaries. Their dedicated service ensured that patients received proper evaluation and guidance regarding various ENT-related health concerns, including hearing difficulties, ear infections, sinus issues, and throat problems.
Hearing Tests and Support for Beneficiaries
As part of the initiative, around 20 specialised audiometry (hearing) tests were conducted during the camp to identify hearing impairments among the attendees. Several patients who required hearing assistance were advised to use hearing aids.
To support those in need, hearing aids were made available at highly subsidised rates, ensuring affordability for rural beneficiaries. In addition, NSWF extended financial support of ₹5,000 to each beneficiary who required a hearing aid, significantly reducing the cost burden and enabling them to improve their quality of life.
Positive Response from the Community
Since this was the first ENT camp conducted in the neighbourhood, the initiative was widely appreciated by the villagers and beneficiaries. Many participants expressed their gratitude to NSWF for bringing specialised medical care directly to their doorstep.
The camp also helped raise awareness about ENT health issues, which are often neglected in rural areas due to limited access to specialists and diagnostic facilities.
Expanding Healthcare Access in Rural Areas
The success of this camp has opened up new opportunities for addressing ENT-related health concerns in and around Nachandupatti. NSWF remains committed to organising similar healthcare initiatives in the future to ensure that rural communities receive timely medical attention and improved access to healthcare services.
Through such initiatives, NSWF continues its mission of supporting community welfare, improving health awareness, and enhancing the quality of life for rural residents.
